Web development company Virage is launching a new web-hosting product aimed at small businesses and individuals wanting to set up their own sites.
The East Cowton, North Yorkshire business is launching Host 50 to banish overpricing for web-space and to make companies and individuals aware that setting up on the Internet needn't be expensive.
Virage, which deals with all aspects of web infrastructure, is providing a web hosting package supporting up to 150 megabytes of information, equivalent to 100 pages of text and graphics.
Sean Connolly, director of Virage, said: "We believe that businesses are often overcharged for the services they are given.
"Small businesses and individuals are not always aware of the true costs involved and sometimes assume that technicalities cost money when that is not always the case." He added: "Host 50 is about providing a high level of service at a competitive price. It's simple to set up and costs less than £1 a week."
