Durham City had a double water polo success at home to Sunderland, winning the women's match 6-3 and the junior mens 15-2.
The women's game was played with much enthusiasm. Both teams included some 12 and 13-year-old players who made a significant contribution to an interesting tussle.

City expected a harder game from Sunderland's junior men, but ran out easy winners, consistently scoring in each quarter. The match was played at a hectic pace, and the very fit and fast Durham team never looked in trouble.
