Horden continued their good start to the season and remain the only team unbeaten when they came from 3-1 down to beat Aycliffe A 9-5. Winners for Horden with two wins were John Bourne and Steve Nixon, one win each for Darren Jones, Shaun Williams, Arthur Wylie, Tommy Forster and Paul Hickman. Aycliffe A replied with wins from Andrew Tuesday, Steve Bainbridge, Dave Bromley, Johnny Mason and Gavin Shaw.

After losing the first two games of the season Ferryhill have found their form to win their fourth match in a row when they beat the visiting Bishop Auckland 10-4. Ferryhill had two wins from Steve Wray, Steve Webster, Terry Wray and Phil Cox, one win each for Martin Short and Simon Corbridge. Bishop had two wins from Kevin Watson and one win each from Mal Parry and David Jacomb. Durham A won their first match of the season when they beat the visiting Aycliffe B 8-6. Durham A had two wins from Ben Bowen, Paul Shutt and Dave Ferguson, one win each for Chris Greenwell and Lee Holdsworth. Aycliffe B replied with wins from Gary Spooner, Paul Wade, Paul Archer, Richie Bellwood, Gary Parker and Roy McLean.

In the derby Crook B beat Crook A 8-6. Shildon entertained Durham B and also won 8-6.

Durham Pool Ranking Tournament

Michael Rhodes, the snooker professional from Durham, is proving unbeatable in this year's Pool Ranking Tournament held at Durham Snooker Club, after he won the third event, having already won two and withdrawn from the final of the third because of a snooker commitment. In the latest final Michael beat Leigh Mavin The beaten semi-finalists were Chris Bowran and Gary Carr.

Semi-final results: Michael Rhodes beat Chris Bowran 4-2, whilst Leigh Mavin beat Gary Carr 4-1.

Kevin Allison won the Platecompetition when he beat Dave Lowery 3-2 in the Final. In the semis Allison beat Lee Holdsworth 2-0 and Lowery beat Alan McCluskey 2-0.
