A LARGE quantity of cocaine has been seized in a police swoop on a village in east Cleveland.
Drug squad officers, members of the district support unit and dog handlers raided a house on the Grange Estate at Lazenby, near Redcar, and a nearby allotment.
Cleveland Police Superintendent Ian Garrett said: "This is another successful operation. It shows we have the ability to act upon information quickly and effectively.
"To continue the fight against drugs in Langbaurgh, the drug squad operates a confidential, freephone telephone line, which is on 0800 092 9702.''
A man and a woman who were arrested in the raids have been given police bail pending further inquiries, including tests on the drugs that were seized.
Cash and drugs paraphernalia were also found during the swoop on Lazenby, which was carried out as part of Operation Abbey.
