WORK on a £120,000 road safety scheme, including a new mini-roundabout, is to start today.
City of York Council will carry out work at the junction of Strensall Road, York Road and Ox Carr Lane, in Strensall, which may last between six to eight weeks. Temporary traffic lights will operate.
Ray Chaplin, head of the council's engineering consultancy, said: "Over the years there have been a number of accidents at the busy junction - some of them involving children.
"However, we have secured Government money to introduce a safety scheme in the area and improve safety for all.
