IF trainer form at courses is anything to go by then Peartree House looks to hold solid claims in the two-mile novice hurdle at Plumpton.
For Saltburn trainer Mary Reveley has had three wins from only five runners at the South coast venue in recent times.
However, it's no coincidence that a certain Peter Savill, the gelding's owner, is also the course's supremo and he can get off the mark over timber at the fourth attempt.
A useful Flat handicapper when trained by David Nicholls, the eight-year-old showed enough on his hurdles debut at Musselburgh on good ground to suggest he could win a race of this nature.
He's not gone on in two runs since then but this better ground will be very much in his favour and he could have more improvement in him than likely favourite Infini.
Windsor stages a competitive-looking card and, in the sprints on fast ground last year, those drawn high enjoyed a big advantage.
With this in mind, the Tote Exacta Showcase handicap over six furlongs could go to TKO Gym, who is berthed in stall 15 (of the 18 runners).
David Nicholls' string are just starting to get going at present and the gelding could well have been found out by easy ground at Doncaster on his reappearance.
He showed plenty of ability as a juvenile last year and shaped on more than one occasion as though this six-furlong trip would be ideal.
Nicholls can also be on the mark with Mana-Mou Bay in the Russell Reed Classified Stakes over his optimum trip of a mile.
In common with several from this yard, the five-year-old looked to need his reappearance run but led those who raced on the stand's side in the Lincoln at Doncaster for a long way before getting tired on unsuitably soft ground.
He's sure to be all the better for that race and he knows his way round here having won over course and distance when trained by Richard Hannon.
The visor that he wore to victory here last August is back on now and the booking of Kieren Fallon looks a very good sign.
