CREATIONS that come out of a series of paper workshops in Bishop Auckland will form part of an exhibition touring the Wear Valley.
Papermaker Anne Johnson, who has a studio in Hamsterley, invited members of the public to make bowls and vessels out of recycled paper at a workshop in the Discovery Centre, in Bishop Auckland market place, this weekend.
She will be holding other workshops in the town, including one at Cockton Hill School today.
Mrs Johnson said: "We've had lots of people here, more than I anticipated, with groups of 12 to 15 people all day, so that's really encouraging.
"They're working with recycled paper and using the pulp to laminate into bowls and other vessels.
"They're incorporating natural materials like leaves and resin to give some texture and interest to the pieces.
"It's quite hard for them to work in three dimensions, rather than flat, because it is quite a difficult concept to make 3-D forms, but they've all done very well.
