SCHOOLBOY confidence tricksters are lining their pockets at the expense of the terminally-ill.
Charity workers have learned of a gang of 13-year-olds going around Yarm supposedly collecting for Teesside Hospice, which has not seen a penny of the cash.
Hospice spokeswoman Joanne Denwood said yesterday: "If people are thinking they are giving money to us and instead it is going into their pockets, it is, at the end of the day, depriving us of desperately-needed funds."
The teenagers are asking shops and pubs to donate to the hospice children's unit, which does not exist.
