A COUNTY Durham exile is coming home to entertain the people of her home town.
Anne Curry will be the soloist with the Northallerton Male Voice Choir, which will perform in her home town of Chester-le-Street next month.
The professor at Reading University first started singing at Chester-le-Street Grammar School, under the tutelage of Robert Caldwell.
Over the years, she has won several cups and trophies for her singing. Prof Curry studied history at Manchester University and has written books.
She will team up with the Northallerton choir, which has 50 members and has played at the Albert Hall and made TV appearances, for a concert at Chester-le-Street Community Centre on May 4, at 7pm.
Tickets cost £3.50 and are available at the community centre, or by calling 0191-388 4752.
