A BOOKLET designed to help parents in Derwentside look after children under the age of five has been published.
Durham City's Clever Clogs Publishing has produced the first edition of Derwentside for Under Fives.
The book was commissioned by Durham County Council and was partly funded by the authority's Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership.
The A5 guide contains telephone numbers and hints on all aspects of caring for small children.
The subjects covered range from where to find toddler football classes to help with sleep problems. The guide is available from libraries and Sure Start, in Stanley.
Editor Heather Alabaster said: "We have written more than just a what's on guide that is only relevant for limited period.
"Our guide includes education and health issues, as well as ideas for days out and parent and toddler groups. We have found that people tend to keep them in their bag or car, or next to the phone."
Clever Clogs has already produced guides for Durham, Easington, Darlington and Wear Valley. For more information, call Heather Alabaster on 0191-386 5918.
