IT will be announced today that a sports facility will be transformed, thanks to a National Lottery windfall.
Sport England Lottery has awarded £417,000 towards the redevelopment of the King George V Recreation Ground at West View, Hartlepool and work could start as early as June.
Funding for the £489,000 project has also come from the North Hartlepool Single Regeneration Budget Partnership (£45,000) and Hartlepool Borough Council (£27,000).
It will comprise a new pavilion with changing and community facilities and a floodlit multi-use area and skating facility, to complement existing facilities, including the football and rugby pitches
