A BOWLS club was celebrating a National Lottery success yesterday after being awarded a grant towards the cost of a new pavilion.
The Castleton, Danby and District Bowls Club, on the North York Moors, has been awarded more than £12,800 from the Sport England Lottery Fund.
The money will go towards the £17,000 development of a timber pavilion on the club's green in the national park.
The facility should be ready by this August and represents a big achievement for the club.
Despite setbacks caused by the foot-and-mouth crisis last year the club has worked hard towards its bowl development plan
