Inquests adjourned
INQUESTS into the deaths of two pensioners were opened and adjourned at Darlington police station yesterday.
Margaret Mitchell, 67, of Birch Road, Barnard Castle, died in Darlington Memorial Hospital on April 12.
David Wellburn, 68, of Brighton Road, Darlington, died in the hospital on April 13.

HOME EXTENSION: An application for permission to extend a house in Surtees Road, Redworth, to provide a family room and lobby, has been submitted to Darlington Borough Council.
TABLE SALE: A table-top sale is being held in Middridge Village Hall on Saturday, from 9am to noon.
NATURALISTS' TALK: The president of Darlington and Teesdale Naturalists' Field Club will give a lecture on April 30 in Darlington Arts Centre, at 7.30pm.
ACCESS SCHEME: Plans for an access to agricultural land in Coatsay Moor Lane, Heighington, Darlington, has been submitted to the brough council.
