A SCARBOROUGH road safety campaigner has been nominated for a national award by the town's MP, Lawrie Quinn. Nick Earnshaw, 30, was told of the move when he officially opened a new set of traffic signals in Ramshill Road for which he has been campaigning for four years following a road accident four years ago in which he was knocked down and which left him with serious brain damage. Mr Quinn nominated Nick for the Oyster award scheme, run by National Lottery operator Camelot, which recognises people who show determination to improve their local communities. "Nick has campaigned hard on behalf of other people to make this busy road junction safer. He also spends time visiting primary schools talking to children about road safety," said Mr Quinn.
