Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a grandmother's murder for a fish supper.
Marie Watson, 77, died on Saturday after she was mugged between Gill's fish and chip shop, in Heaton, Newcastle, and her nearby Spencer Street home, on April 4.
She was wrestled to the ground and robbed of her black shopping bag containing just a piece of fish and a few personal items.
The widow, who was partially sighted and had hearing problems, suffered severe bruising, a fractured right arm and broken ribs.
A police appeal for information resulted in a flood of calls and cards of condolence being received from members of the public.
Officers are currently questioning the two suspects - a man and a woman, but last night, no further details were available.
