House of Fraser is creating 100 new jobs at its flagship store at the MetroCentre.

Metrojobs, part of the JobCentre Plus network, is carrying out recruitment work for the store.

The job creation follows the store being awarded the "store of the year award" for its excellent customer service, measured by mystery shoppers and sales targets.

The new full and part-time jobs are being created in the men's and women's designer range departments.

Fay Meeks, recruitment manager at House of Fraser, said: "We are delighted to achieve the prestigious store of the year award and be able to announce the creation of 100 new jobs."

Patricia Dunn, manager at Metrojobs, said: "We are delighted to be helping House of Fraser recruit it new staff.

"This is excellent news for anyone who would like to develop a career in retail."

She added: "There will be a lot of flexibility in the new jobs with a range of full and part time hours available during the day, evening and at weekends."
