CHARITIES nominated by Stockton's outgoing mayor, Councillor Terry Bean, will receive more than £7,000 raised during his year in office.
Fundraising events have included a charity ball at Tall Trees, near Yarm, a coffee morning at Stockton Parish Church and a pie and peas supper at Thornaby's Ex-Servicemen's Club.
Coun Bean is sending a cheque for £5,000 to Children with Leukaemia and £2,244 to the Macmillan Teesside Appeal.
Coun Bean said: "I am delighted these charities will benefit from the generosity of those who attended these events."
The new mayor, Councillor Jean O'Donnell, has nominated the Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen's Association, Cleveland Ambulance resuscitation equipment and the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation as her charities.
