Willington under-18s are through to the finals of all three cup competitions and they will play all three finals in six days in May. After meeting Barnard Castle in the Lady Eden Cup final on Monday Bank Holiday, May 6 (11am), Willington will play Bishop Auckland in the South West Durham Presidents Cup final on Wednesday May 8, and they will meet Bishops again in the league cup final on Saturday May 11.

Willington beat Barnard Castle in their league cup semi final 3-2 on penalties following a 2-2 extra time draw. Willington twice led in with goals from Wayne Booth and Andrew Morris, Stuart Meney twice equalising for Barney, his second goal coming with a penalty five minutes from the end of extra time. In the penalty shoot-out, MoM Meney and Lee Stoddart netted their penalties for the home side, but Willington keeper Mark Bowey made three fine penalty saves. Max Applegarth, Martin Mann and Michael Sanderson converted their spot kicks for Willington who did not need to take their fifth kick.

This makes it four cup finals this season for Willington, who also made the Durham County Cup final for the first time, losing 2-1 to a golden goal in extra time to Gateshead Redheugh BC.

Bishop Auckland won their league cup semi final 5-3 after extra time away to last season's trophy winners Chilton YC who took an early lead through Adam Reed. Vegan Queraha made it 2-0 early in the second half, Bishops pulling one back through Dean Maddison only for Anthony Tate to make it 3-1 to Chilton. Maddison got his second but there were only seconds of normal time remaining when Karl Everitt equalised. Kevin Dodd (110 min) and Everitt (116 min) scored in the second period of extra time to put Bishops into the final. Bishops then won 3-1 away to Spennymoor Legion.

Willington had a win and a draw to move up to second place. Willington beat visitors Coundon & Leeholme 1-0, Wayne Booth scoring in the first half. Willington drew 1-1 away to Chilton YC who took a first minute lead through Craig Mason, John Harrison equalising four minutes later.

Willington missed a penalty just before half time. Mark Foster netted a hat-trick for Ferryhill in their 3-3 draw at home to Coundon & Leeholme. Coundon's goals came from Gary Armstrong (og) and Jonathan Kellett (2).
