The Eric Bell Trophy has been won by Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, Darlington. This football trophy is played for by College 'C' teams that play in the Teesside League.
The Cup Final was held on Wednesday, April 10 at Darlington RA's ground between Queen Elizabeth College and St Mary's College, Middlesborough. The final score was 3-0 to QE.
Teacher and team manager, Mark Scottsaid: "It was a good team performance, but we had to work hard. The players deserved the victory for their efforts during the season - we only lost one game."
In the first half, a goal by Paul Metcalfe put Queen Elizabeth in the lead. A particularly good save by goalkeeper Graeme Potts ensured that the Darlington side kept their 1-0 lead to half time.
The second half saw St Mary's tiring and goals in quick succession in the final 15 minutes clinched the victory for QE. Jamie Langburn scored the second goal; John Sunter the third.
