Anger over newsletter
FRICTION resurfaced over the council newsletter.
There were some angry exchanges when members considered the spring - and initial - edition.
Councillor Gwen Porter objected to references to the "turbulent" time of her chairmanship. She was also uneasy that chairwoman Liz Marsden had provided information about her for a profile.
Councillor Jake Dale, who had volunteered to organise the newsletter project, defended his editorial. "I have said we are trying to look forward," he said. "If anyone else can do better then do it."
HALL WORK: Work on revamping the upstairs of the town hall is going ahead. Painting and decorating has been under way since the hall was hit by a flood some weeks ago. Much of the work has been done by council members and volunteers, but Coun Addison said a professional decorator was needed to do stairwells and other work. New curtains also needed to be chosen.
