A Darlington school is raising money for a charity close to its heart.
Teachers at Hummersknott School and Language College are giving a music concert to raise funds for the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).
Each year the school chooses a charity to support and this year it opted to help the RNIB.
The school has a number of partially-sighted pupils and Adam Ferguson, 13, made school history by becoming the first blind pupil to join.
Teacher John Kelly said: "We get requests from a lot of charities, but we chose the RNIB because of Adam.
"It was a nice connection so we are busy fundraising for the charity."
Local five-piece band, Fourum, which includes two Hummersknott teachers, will perform their 30th anniversary concert in aid of the charity on Saturday night, at 7.30pm, at All Saints Centre, Ravensdale Road, Blackwell, Darlington.
Tickets cost £5. For more details call (01325) 241191.
