JOBSEEKERS with a head for heights and an interest in food could end up working in one of the region's most prestigious buildings.
North-East unemployed people are being offered the chance to receive job training for the three catering spaces that will be part of the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, at Gateshead Quays.
Food and drink operators Tom and Eugene McCoy, and Marcus Bennett, will run the three areas - the Rooftop Restaurant, Riverside Restaurant and Cafe Bar after the centre opens on July 13.
Gateshead Borough Council is coordinating the search for customer and food service staff, as well as waiting staff for the areas.
Located on the Baltic's sixth floor, the Rooftop Restaurant will have views of Tyneside and overlook the award-winning Gateshead Millennium Bridge.
The Riverside Restaurant will be on the second floor, and have a terrace overlooking the Tyne, and the Cafe Bar will be on the ground level, looking out on to Baltic Square.
All three will be open daytimes and evenings, seven days a week.
The McCoys have a history in the food and drink business, having established The Tontine, at Staddlebridge, North Yorkshire, 25 years ago, which attracts customers from throughout the UK.
