CALL centre officer Anne Graham had three reasons to thank a hospital special baby care unit.

She wanted to pass on her gratitude to staff in the unit at Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary for their help when she gave birth to premature triplets last year.

Anne, previously a human resources officer at nvisage customer contact centre in Peterlee, County Durham, arranged a cash donation for the unit with the help of former colleagues Sue Robinson and Fiona Robson.

"Everyone took part in a country and western day and one member of staff in IT support, Lee Crossan, even went to the extremes of having his eyebrows waxed," she said.

The result was a £1,000 donation, which Anne handed to the unit on a return visit to the RVI.

Ward sister Hylin Doyle, said: "We look after so many poorly babies every day and this cheque for £1,000 from nvisage staff is a real surprise."

She said that the money would help to buy specialist equipment for the special care unit.
