A COUNTY Durham pub is planning to celebrate St George's Day in style.
Starting tomorrow, the Church Mouse, on Great North Road, in Chester-le-Street, will be serving up facts about England's patron saint.
Landlord Robert Middlemiss said: "So little is commonly known about St George and I'm sure many of the facts will surprise a lot of people.
"It would be great fun to think that people will leave the Church Mouse having enjoyed a great meal and increased their interest and knowledge about England's patron saint."
Among the facts customers will learn are that St George was born and raised outside of Europe, he was a tribune in the Roman Army, and that his fame as a dragonslayer was created after his death to represent his fight against evil.
