A college aims to educate the public on issues which confront the disabled at an awareness day next month.
Darlington College at Catterick opens its doors between 10am and 3.30pm on Thursday, May 2, when seminars, stalls and workshops will be arranged to raise awareness of the everyday challenges which face those with special needs.
Themes include employment, dealing with deafness and solutions to problems for the disabled in North Yorkshire, while there will be workshops on computers and cooking, as well a look at child care.
Speakers will include principal of Darlington College of Technology, Sarah Farley, and Seamus Breen from North Yorkshire County Council's social services department.
