MORE big film productions could be heading for the broad acres of Yorkshire in the wake of a mission to the capital of the movie-world.
A team from the Yorkshire Screen Commission (YSC) has jetted off to Los Angeles to meet the movers and shakers of Hollywood.
Team members will be extolling the joys of their home county in an attempt to lure US producers to the North of England.
The region is already well-known to TV viewers worldwide with the success of shows such as Heartbeat, and films including Harry Potter, partially filmed at Goathland, and Elizabeth, which featured York Minster.
The YSC team will be in the heart of the California movie industry when they will attend the Association of Film Commissions International Location Expo, which is a showcase attended by filmmakers from across the world.
The YSC is there to promote the diversity of the Yorkshire landscape and the highly-skilled crew base.
Meetings have also been arranged with LA production companies which have shown an interest in filming in the county.
Potential projects include a First World War drama which could use parts of the East Coast to double as Flanders and another is a period piece set in medieval times.
The YSC's production liaison officer Kaye Elliot said: "Yorkshire already has a great list of production credits and a fantastic reputation.
"We want to build on this so Yorkshire is one of the first places that springs to mind when filming locations are considered by production companies."
Team members will also be attending the Cannes Film Festival in May and hope to attend other promotional events during the year.
