A NEW group is giving users of a disabled transport service the chance to have their say on how it is run.
The Ring-a-Ride service, which was set up in Darlington after Dial-a-Ride collapsed in February, is a special taxi and transport service with disabled access.
It serves people who are unable to use normal public transport because of mobility difficulties.
Disabled passengers will have a voice in how the service is run, via a feedback group.
Gordon Pybus, of the Darlington Association on Disability, is setting up the user group.
He said: "I think that a very good job has been done setting the new service up in such a short time. After Dial-a-Ride finished, Ring-a-Ride was up and running within three weeks. If there are any faults with the service it is because it has been set up very quickly."
Organisers say they would welcome further feedback from users.
The Ring-a-Ride service is operated by Darlington and District Youth and Community Association and was started with a £30,000 grant from the Local Transport Plan to buy the vehicles. A further £45,000 grant finances the annual running costs.
