PARKING PLEA: Members expressed concern about the damage being caused to the village green by vehicles "cutting the corners" in order to avoid parked cars. This was particularly relevant in the area around the bus shelter. Residents were asked, wherever possible, to avoid leaving cars on the road. Indiscriminate parking elsewhere in the village was also posing a threat to the safety of pedestrians and motorists alike.
BOWING OUT: Councillor Tim Webster lead tributes to the outgoing chairman, Councillor Don Wells, who is standing down after more than 25 years' service, 22 of which have been as chairman.
CULVERT BLOW: Correspon-dence received from Yorkshire Water indicated that work on the defective drainage culvert in Carr Lane would be postponed until 2005. A further approach is to be made.
SEWERS PROBLEM: Sewers in Carr Close and outside the village hall are becoming blocked on a regular basis and are posing a problem for residents in those areas. It was agreed that the clerk should ask Yorkshire Water to investigate.
