THE smallest library in Redcar and Cleveland re-opened this week after a major re-vamp.
Dormanstown Library has been expanded from a former shop in Farndale Square to occupy the adjoining vacant shop, increasing its size by 50 per cent. It means Laburnum Road Library in Redcar takes over the smallest library title.
The library has undergone a £105,000 project to equip it as a UKOnline Centre with a computer suite and a range of courses by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's Adult Education Service.
Dormanstown ward councillor and Redcar and Cleveland Mayor Vilma Collins, who officially re-opened the library, was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers by five-year-old Chloe Laity from Dormanstown Primary School.
Coun Collins presented prizes to children who designed posters to advertise the library's re-opening. Winners were Cameron Pinnegar, six, and Michael Rawlinson, nine, from Dormanstown Primary School and Michael Keane, 12, from West Redcar Community School.
