TWO lovable dogs are looking for new homes.
Jade, a greyhound-cross, and Goldie, a golden retriever-cross, are both being cared for by the National Animal Sanctuary Support League, in Darlington.
Jade was a family pet until her owners' daughter developed an allergic reaction to her. Pauline Wilson, from the support league, said: "The family were heartbroken that they had to let the dog go.
"People have a misconception about greyhounds, that they need loads of exercise and chase anything that moves.
"It isn't true and they can actually make very loving and loyal pets."
Goldie was one of an unwanted litter and is only three months old.
She needs to be homed with someone who does not leave the house for more than two hours at a time.
Ms Wilson said: "She is very naughty because she is so young and needs training, but with a dog this young the more time you put in the more you get out."
