As the season fast draws to a close only a few Spraire teams had games.
At Under-14 the B team went a step closer to achieving promotion with a 3-2 victory over Seaton Carew thanks to goals from Tarren Webb and Langley. This leaves Spraire requiring just one point from their remaining two games to ensure automatic promotion.
At Under-17 Spraire completed their Jubilee cup group games with a 6-0 victory over Cuolby Newham. This completed a 100 per cent record of six straight victories in the group.
Spraire's goals came from Brischuk, Ralph, Blenkharn, Harwood and two for Stephenson the second one being an excellent 25-yard free kick and the pick of the six goals.
In mini-soccer the Under-9s played against Hartlepool Premier and despite being 3-0 down at half time, Spraire fought back in the second half with goals from Dale Johnson and man of the match Jordan Grieves but Spraire eventually lost 4-2.
At Under-10 ten in midweek Spraire played Newton Aycliffe winning 7-0. A hat-trick from Wilson two from Swainston one from Johnson and one from man of the match Petch did the damage.
At the weekend Spraire at this age group played a series of freindlies against Darlington Allstars, winning 4-2 and drawing the next three 3-3, 1-1 and 1-1. Scorers for Spraire were Swainston (3) Petch, Raper, Blewit, Madison, Hutchison and Ryan.
In the Richmond League, Spraire Lads Under-13s had a disappointing end to the season losing 6-1 at home to Bedale. Lewis Raper capped an all-round good display with Spraire Lads consolation goal. James McBride was awarded man of the match for Spraire with an excellent performance at right-wing.
South Durham Royals
The South Durham Royals Under-11s versus Blyth Girls game started lively with both teams having shots on target, Stephanie Hartley making fine saves for the Royals.
On 17 minutes Rebecca Pattinson headed superbly into goal from a Vicky Wray corner but on 21 minutes Blyth struck with C Thompson scoring then a few minutes later she fired in her second then on 31 minutes to put Blyth 3-1 ahead.
Vicky Wray then latched on to a loose ball and made the score 3-2 and two minutes later Royals equalised through Jade White.
Royals piled on the pressure and confidence was high when Vicky Wray again took possession and slotted the ball in to make it 4-3.
In the 58th minute after some good passing football Fiona Cantwell took the ball forward and chipped the keeper to make the final score 5-3 to Royals.
The Royals Under-16 made a good start to their game against Forest Hall by playing some excellent passing football.
Victoria Barnes sent Katie Outhwaite through to place the ball in the left hand corner to make the score 1-0 and in the 25th minute in the second half K Outhwaite played a short ball to V Barnes to make it 2-0.
Ten minutes later, after some good possession, Royals were staked in the Forest Hall goalmouth when the ball was crossed in for R Cowans to tap over the line for 3-0.
Royals made some positional changes and always looked comfortable and with five minutes remaining Vicky Allen finished some good build-up play to blast the last goal into the top corner to top-off an excellent all-round team performance.
In a midweek match South Durham Royals drew 2-2 with Boldon Ladies.

Rohm and Haas JOC Hetton Youth League
Herrington enhanced their chances of winning the championship and dealt Jarrow St Bedes a severe blow when they won the match of the day 5-0.
Little has separated the pair all season, but at the weekend Herrington were by far the better team and once they went into the lead never looked back. Craig Ellison bagged a brace of goal and others flowed from Brian Smiles, Michael Hedley and David Smith.
Herrington now have a two points lead over Jarrow St Bedes and the sides have played the same number of matches.
Trimdon cannot be discounted despite trailing Herrington by seven points since they have played two games fewer.
They kept alive their aspirations, but they were hard pressed before seeing off the challenge from Lumley by a 2-1 margin.
Kurt Luke gave them a half-time lead and although Craig McManus scored for Lumley during the second period, Trimdon gained three crucial points with a strike from Ian Bickerstaff.
South Moor remain fourth from top but are out of contention since they are 11 points behind Herrington and have played the same number of fixtures.
Nevertheless, they produced a strong performance and finished 6-1 winners over Hebburn after establishing a two goals half-time lead. Kelvin Armstrong struck twice and others on target were Ben Thompson, Richard Hodge, Kris Hewitt and Craig Suggett. Paul Bendelow scored a consolation goal for Hebburn.
A brace of goals by David Armstrong just edged Washington Dunlop to a 2-1 victory at home to Ryhope.
Auckland & District EBAC Youth League
Chilton YC Under-18s won 4-3 away to Coundon & Leeholme juniors in the Auckland and District EBAC Youth League on Saturday after starting the game with only ten men.
The home side took advantage of the extra man to take the lead through Craig Marley. Chilton got up to full strength after 20 minutes, but Coundon went 2-0 up through Matthew Moffitt before Craig Mason pulled one back to make it 2-1 at half-time.
In the second half, Stephen Tobin and Mason were on target to give Chilton a 3-2 lead, but Moffitt equalised for Coundon before Tobin got the Chilton winner with his second. Even then, Coundon had a goal disallowed before the end.
Barnard Castle drew 1-1 at home to Ferryhill. It was goalless at half time, Joe Baum giving the Barney lads the lead in the second half. Andrew Fairley equalised for Ferryhill with almost the last kick of the game.
Midweek, Willington won 4-1 at home to Ferryhill to briefly go top of the table. Steven Howe got a hat trick for Willington with John Cunningham their other scorer, William Foster replaying for Ferryhill.
Bishop Auckland lost 4-0 at home to Barnard Castle who took the points with goals from Rory Edwards, Stuart Meney (pen), Baum and Alistair Logan. Chris Renshaw was Bishops MoM.
Two days later, Bishops regained top spot thanks to a 6-4 home win over Willington. John Russell, MoM Neil Robinosn, Dean Maddison (pen) and Kevin Dodds were on target for Bishops, Lee Genner (2), John Harrison and Michael Sanderson replying for Willington.
Moffitt got a hat-trick for Coundon & Leeholme in their 7-3 win at home to Spennymoor Legion. Sean Denham, Craig Morley, Chris Scott and Sean Carr were also on target for Coundon, while Andrew Spence (2) and Terry Garside netted for the Legion lads.
Andrew Lee got the vital goal for Chilton YC in their 1-0 win away to Spennymoor two days earlier.
Darlington 21st Allstars
Down to the last 15 league games for the club and not only is one championship 'in the bag' at Under-12 level, but a similar story is still possible for the other Allstars' side at that level.
The Under-12s are the toast of the club this week, their marvellous Division Two season finished off with a 2-0 victory against Teesside Athletic, thereby winning the championship with their 13th victory in succession, only dropping four points all season. The match was played at Feethams and the Allstars are grateful to Darlington Football Club for giving these young lads a wonderful opportunity.
Allstars were well on top throughout and Jack Henderson made it 29 for the season wit h the only goals of the game. Jamie Hind was man of the match. Congratulations to all the squad for a wonderful effort.
The Under-12s Colts finished their season in style with a 4-0 victory at home to Redcar Racers, which still leaves them wondering whether they will finish first, second or third in their division.
Jack Ridley has almost certainly finished as the club's leading scorer at 11-a-side level, two more goals resulting in a final total for him of 34. Matthew Cousins and Tom Watson were also on the scoresheet. Callum Franklin was man of the match.
The Under-11s continued their recent impressive form, recording their best result of the season with a 2-1 victory at home to Division One leaders Cleveland Juniors. In a tremendous performance, Ross Kelly made it 22 for the season and Liam Coates also scored. James Stokell was man of the match.
At seven-a-side level, the Under-10s Colts played two of their final three games, from which they gained three points. In the first match, at Trimdon United, they won 3-2 with two goals from man of the match Sean Simpson and another from Ryan Ford. Then in a friendly match, they again won 3-2 with Michael Johnston, Mark Duncan and Sam Hird getting the goals and Dion Sung the man of the match award.
Four days later, the Under-10s Colts travelled to Hartlepool Juniors and lost 3-1, the Allstars' goal coming via Tom McCabe and Simpson being awarded man of the match. In a subsequent friendly, the Colts won 4-2 with a goal from Simpson and a marvellous hat-trick from man of the match Ryan Bowes.
The Second Division's Under-17s continued their campaign in the Jubilee Cup with only 11 fit players but put in a tremendous battling display at Division 1 champions Whinney Banks, only to lose 3-1 after holding their illustrious opponents to 1-1 at half-time. Captain Paul Tills got the goal and Fergus Cowan was man of the match.
The Under-11s Colts finished their season with a home game against Coulby Newham A and lost 5-0 to a team which, as a result, won the Divisional championship. Man of the match for the Colts was Benn Murphy.
The Under-14 Colts also completed their programme, with a home game against Bedale JFC, which they lost 8-2 but during which they improved as the game went on. Goalkeeper Jason Pritchard unfortunately had to be taken to hospital with concussion and all at the Allstars wish him well. Marc Tills grabbed both goals and Chris Trumper was man of the match.
Willington Boys
Lewis Hope earned two MoM accolades for Willington Boys Under-13s in the Russell Foster Junior League last week. Hope scored a hat trick in a 5-2 victory over Houghton Starks, with Adam Combie and Warren Roberts the other Willington scorers.
Hope was again MoM and scored a goal in Willington's 7-0 home win over Hetton Juniors. Craig Alston, Combie, Andrew Robinson, Antony Bakuris and Jonathan Richardson (2) got the other goals.
Willington Under-14s drew 3-3 away to Birtley St. Josephs. In an exciting, end-to-end game, Willington earned a point with goals from Thomas Copping, Daniel Kent and Michael Walsh.
