In the delayed semi-final Heppell Hodgson of Tow Law got away to a poor start against his teammate, Charlie Donaghy. Hodgson was well below his best as Donaghy steadily built up a lead in a bid to meet Tom Ward of Hunwick in the final.
The hundred mark was passed with Donaghy fifty points ahead and this was quickly extended with a second break in the twenties. However for the first time Hodgson came up to his usual reliable standard and knocked in a twenty break to close the gap. He tightened up his safety play and looked to be closing the gap but he had left it too late and went out by thirty-eight points at 150-112.
The Presentation Evening has been arranged for Hunwick Club at 7.00p.m. on Thursday, 2 May when all players are invited to take part in a series of competitions followed by supper. The season's fee of £5 has to be paid on the night or sent in advance to the secretary.
