A CAR driver who witnessed a motorcycle accident has been urged to contact police.
The accident happened as the driver of a red Rover overtook three children cycling south on the A167 at the Ferryhill Cut.
The motorcyclist was overtaking them when his Suzuki Bandit hit an object and he fell off, sustaining minor injuries. He was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
Now police are trying to trace the driver of the M-registered Rover car to find out if he has any information about the accident.
PC Gary Emerson, of Spennymoor police, said the driver pulled over and stayed with the motorcyclist, but left when the ambulance arrived.
He said: "He was not involved in the accident in any way, but as a witness he could have important information and I would urge him to come forward and speak to me."
PC Emerson can be contacted on (01388) 814411.
