A SCHOOL is celebrating its triple achievement after winning three awards.
Laurel Avenue Primary School, on Sherburn Road Estate, Durham, received a Healthy School Award yesterday from Annie Hitchman, of Durham and Chester-le-Street Primary Care Trust.
The accolade followed the School Achievement Award from the Department For Education and Skills and an Investing in Children Award received by the school recently.
Headteacher Valerie Vayro said the awards were welcome recognition of the school's success.
"We are delighted to receive the awards," she said.
"They recognise the all-round achievements of our pupils and the hard work and dedication of our staff.
"All these awards show that we are not only looking after the academic side of the children's progress but that the all-round needs of our pupils are being met."
