ORGANISERS of street parties to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee are being urged to contact their local authority.
Hambleton District Council says requests for street closures received after May 6 will not be processed in time for the celebrations on June 3 and 4.
A three-week consultation with local people and the police has to be carried out before closure orders are made.
A £25 refundable cleaning deposit is required with applications and a letter explaining the event and roads to be used.
Requests should be sent to Julie Howell-Walmsley, chief executive's department, Civic Centre, Stone Cross, Northallerton, DL6 2UU. For more information, please telephone (01609) 767007
