TWO teachers have been nominated for their dedication to the classroom in the forthcoming Teacher of the Year Awards.
Roisim McVeigh and John Maddison, who both teach at Wolsingham School and Community College, County Durham, have been shortlisted for the regional finals of the national awards.
History teacher Miss McVeigh, 33, was nominated for the Guardian Outstanding New Teacher Award by school governor Anita Atkinson.
Mr Maddison, 47, the school's assistant head and geography teacher, was nominated by sixth-form students for the School and Community Involvement Award.
In the coming weeks, three judges will visit the school to talk to the candidates before they travel to Newcastle for the regional finals in June.
