MOTORIST Gary Hart faces another multi-million pound writ from a freight company involved in the Selby rail crash.
Freightliner yesterday confirmed it was looking to recover a "substantial" sum of money for damages and loss of business following the disaster in February last year.
The company is now in discussions with Hart's insurers, Fortis Insurance.
Hart was jailed for five years after being found guilty of dangerous driving. Leeds Crown Court heard how the 37-year-old had caused a tragic sequence of events after falling asleep at the wheel of his Land Rover.
The vehicle careered through barriers on the M62 and into the path of a GNER Newcastle to London train on the East Coast Mainline near Great Heck, North Yorkshire.
The high-speed train derailed and collided with an oncoming freight train operated by Freightliner.
Ten people were killed in the crash and another 70 injured.
Both Railtrack and GNER have already served High Court writs on Hart, which will be dealt with by Fortis.
