A WOMAN charged with an offence in connection with an alleged hit-and-run incident has had her case adjourned.
Six-year-old Leonie Shaw died after being hit by a car as she tried to cross the road near her home in Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
Emma Jane Lee, 21, of Salvin Street, Spennymoor, appeared before Sedgefield magistrates in Newton Aycliffe yesterday.
She is charged with aiding and abetting the failure to stop after an accident.
The case was adjourned until May 17 and she was released on conditional bail. Other unrelated charges were adjourned to the same date.
Colin Meek, 34, also of Salvin Street, is due to appear at Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.
He is facing charges of causing death by dangerous driving, failure to stop and failure to report an accident, driving without insurance and being an unaccompanied provisional licence holder.
