REHEARSALS are under way for an unusual theatrical event which will be taking to the stage next month.
The drama department at Longfield Comprehensive School, Darlington, is one of several schools and community groups working with the Tara Arts theatre company for the production, Journey to the West.
The show is in the form of a trilogy, set in 1901, 1968 and the present, following the fates of a group of families.
Students from Darlington College of Technology are also involved in the project, with groups from the Stagecoach Drama Schools in Darlington and Yarm, Navrang Arts in Middlesbrough and Darlington's Vane Women group.
Performances will be at Darlington Civic Theatre from May 8 to 11. Tickets and details are available on (01325) 486555.
