Hartlepool United 1 - 1 Cheltenham - Hartlepool United go in to Tuesday's play-off with Cheltenham with it all to do after being held to a 1-1 draw at Victoria Park.
Pool had to wait until first half injury time to take the lead when Micky Barron's cross was headed home by Eifion Williams to send Pool into the break on a high.
But they failed to make the most of their opportunities and were eventually pegged back.
