MEMBERS of the National Canine Defence League (NCDL) will be at the Asda store car park, Spennymoor, on Wednesday, to microchip dogs.
Anyone wanting their dog chipped can have it done at a cost of £9.50. The service is free for pensioners or people receiving benefit.
Microchipping is a permanent way of identifying dogs so if a pet strays, it can easily be traced and returned. Interested owners can visit the NCDL Roadshow from 10am to 4pm. Each dog must be on a lead and have a handler present aged 18 or over.
The NCDL recommends that all dogs attending should be vaccinated. Puppies under the age of 12 weeks will not be microchipped without proof of vaccination
