A terrified girl is guarded by armed police yesterday as she is helped from an armoured vehicle following a massacre at a school in Germany.
Eighteen people died in the bloodbath at Erfurt - the same number who were killed in the Dunblane horror in Scotland in 1996.
Then, a 43-year-old gun club member shot dead 16 primary school pupils and their teacher before killing himself.
Yesterday, the gunman - an expelled teenager who returned to wreak vengeance - was again among the dead. Most of the 19-year-old killer's victims were teachers.
