FUNDING to provide Thirsk market place with dropped kerbs to provide disabled access is in this year's county council budget.
A scheme for introducing the kerbs was put forward to the authority 18 months ago.
A member of the public asked Thirsk Town Council why there was such a long delay in proving easier access for disabled people in wheelchairs.
County councillor Jan Marshall said that she had, along with county officers, carried out a second site visit and some amendments to the original scheme had been made
