PRINCESS Anne will be the guest of honour at a Durham event to celebrate the Queen's jubilee.
The British Horse Society (BHS) North Region will celebrate its patron's jubilee with a horse extravaganza, The Voice of the Horse, at Houghall College, on June 12.
Designed as a tribute to horses and the people who work with them, the event will provide a unique opportunity to see every native breed in the British Isles in one arena.
The Princess Royal and other visitors will also see demonstrations of horseball, or rugby on horseback, show jumping, gymnastics on horseback, carriage driving and side-saddle riding.
A marquee will host talks, a fashion show, and dozens of stands.
Kay Driver, chief executive of the Society, said: "Her Royal Highness Princess Anne is well known for her love of horses, and as our president, will help to put the message over to the public that the British Horse Society is for everyone who loves horses and cares about their welfare."
Entry will be £6 for adults and £3 for children, with under fives getting in free and BHS members being admitted for £4.50. Tickets can also be bought in advance, for £1 less, by sending a cheque made payable to BHS Events, Priestfield, Burnopfield, Newcastle NE16 6AT.
