Pupils from Cleves Cross Primary School, Ferryhill, raised £2,000 for their school extension with a sponsored walk in fancy dress on Friday.
The school is to receive a £70,000 grant for the extension to house computers, which will be match- funded.
Headteacher John Hepplewhite said the aim was to raise £25,000 over three years for the project. About £9,000 towards that total has been raised this year.
