An east Cleveland college sports team is celebrating after winning through to the finals of a national competition at its first attempt.
The mixed volleyball team at Prior Pursglove College, in Guisborough, fought its way through three rounds in the National British Colleges Sport Volleyball Cup to win a place in the finals.
They beat local rivals Teesside Tertiary College in the semi-finals and lost narrowly to Blackburn to earn a place in the finals as the best runner-up.
The finals will be held in Blackburn on May 8.
Team member Jacyline McCabe, said: "It has certainly raised the profile of volleyball within the college and all our supporters are behind us for success at the finals."
The other team members are Paul Anderson, Sarah Brown, Luke Johnson, Daniel Martinez, Zarah Rasool and Ed Swaine.
