THIEVES have stolen a van and power tools worth more than £10,000.
The haul was taken between 9pm on Sunday and 8am yesterday from Metcalf Agricultural Hire, on the Leadgate Industrial Estate, just outside Consett, County Durham.
The items in the red Ford Escort van, registration H308 HNL, included a Husqvarna strimmer with disk cutter and two orange chainsaws of the same brand.
There were also two Honda five kilowatt generators, one with wheels and one without; a Black and Decker circular saw; three blue Kango hammers, each worth £800; and ten red and white steel saws.
PC Ian Morrison, of Consett police, said: "With the exception of the circular saw, all the stolen items bear identification numbers and members of the public should be alert in case they are offered for sale. The vehicle is also easily identifiable because it bears the company logo."
Anyone with information is asked to call Consett police on (01207) 504204
