Youngsters from across the region are joining forces for a proms celebration.
The Promenade for Youth concert takes place at Darlington's Dolphin Centre on Friday, May 17.
As well as giving young people a chance to air their musical talents, the event will be a warm-up for the next day's Last Night of the Proms.
Darlington Youth Brass Band, conducted by Shaune Eland, will open the evening.
Sarah Kelly, of Stanley, County Durham, runner-up in this year's Young Soprano competition, sponsored by The Northern Echo, will be joined by violinist Edward Walton who is Darlington and Northallerton Rotary's Young Musician of the Year.
The Egglescliffe School orchestra will perform alongside the school's soul band.
