THE British Red Cross is to hold a Save A Life Lunch in Spennymoor to highlight the importance of first aid training.
Demonstrations of life-saving techniques will be given by Red Cross members at the buffet lunch at Whitworth Hall Country Park, on Thursday, May 9.
The scheme, which is being endorsed by actress Claire Goose, from the BBC television drama Casualty, has been organised by the Durham and Teesside branch of the Red Cross.
Bill Fox, from the branch, said: "Not only will people have an enjoyable lunch, but they will have the opportunity to see a demonstration of the skills which could help them save someone's life."
To book a ticket, which costs £15, contact Bill Fox on (0191) 3864357, or Whitworth Hall Country Park Hotel, on (01388) 811772
