A NEW mini concert series will bring music to County Durham next month.
The series, organised by Durham County Council and featuring guitar duo James Birkett and Rod Sinclair, will be launched on Tuesday, May 14.
The duo will play melodies from the 1920s and 1930s at four libraries, starting at Belmont, at 7pm.
They move to Barnard Castle on Wednesday, May 15, at 7.30pm, and to Annfield Plain on Thursday, May 16, at 2pm, before finishing at Newton Hall, on Thursday, May 16, at 7.30pm.
James and Rod are both lecturers at Newcastle College and formed the Jazz Guitar Duo in 1997 with the aim of rediscovering and recreating some of the most influential guitar music recorded in the 1920s and 1930s.
They cover classical, rock and blues and specialised jazz.
Tickets for each show cost £4, and £2 concessions.
